Welcome Back to The New School Year

Welcome back to a new school year! If you are joining us for the first time with little ones in Nursery or Reception, we hope you have enjoyed seeing your little ones settling in so well.

All of the teachers have been working hard to get to know their new classes, and if you have any queries or questions about how things work in their new class, you can find them on the playground at the end of each day, or leave a message at the office and they will get back to you as soon as they can. You will also find members of the senior leadership team on the playground at the start and end of each day.

Each of the teachers will be setting homework for your child/ren weekly, but look out for the additional projects and experiences that you can do to support your child on the curriculum newsletter coming out at the end of the week.

This year at Heathfield, your senior leadership team will be:

Ms L. Evans – Pastoral Manager

Mrs S. Syner – Lead for Inclusion

Miss E. Dicken – Associate Assistant Headteacher - Nursery and Reception

Mrs C. Davin – Assistant Headteacher - Year 1 and Year 2

Mr R. Jackson – Associate Assistant Headteacher  - Year 3, 4 and 5

Mrs S. Richards – Deputy Headteacher - Year 6

Mrs F. Atherton – Head of School

School Uniform

It is lovely to see all of our children looking so smart in their uniforms – however, I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that children should be wearing black shoes, not trainers as part of their school uniform. And that this year they should all be wearing a white polo top for PE with black leggings or tracksuit bottoms, not a coloured t-shirt.

Bookbags and Reading

Look out for lots of information in our first Parent Workshops about Reading and please remind your children that we do expect them to bring their reading bags home every night to read, and then bring them back to school again in the morning.
