Dear Parents and Carers,

This half term has flown by and we have ended on a real high with our Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Celebration Day. Huge thanks go out to Miss Rajput and the humanities team along with the rest of the staff for working so hard to give the children such a wonderful day. And thank you for making such an effort with the children—they looked absolutely superb. If you are looking for a Jubilee event that the whole family can attend, from June 2nd to June 5th there will be four days of family games, a fun fair, food and drink and a live stage in Victoria Square, Birmingham.

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been a very busy (if slightly disjointed) fortnight for us all with bank holidays and training days all coming at once, however, as always, the children of Heathfield have been working extremely hard.

SATs

This week our Year 6 children have sat their SATs tests in Reading, Grammar and Maths and we are all extremely proud of them. We know that it isn’t easy to be in Year 6 and have to sit these tests normally, and we appreciate that it has been even harder for these children having to sit them after the disruption to their learning over the past two years. They are all heroes in our eyes!

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been a lovely first week back at school—the sun has started shining and the children are enjoying being back after the holidays.

Sadly, we no longer have a road safety person supporting the children crossing the road so please do be careful when you are coming up the road and crossing over. The council does have a vacancy for this role, so if you are interested, contact the office and we can share the details with you.

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been a busy week in school with lots happening. It was lovely to have our first face-to-face assembly for Years 4,5 and 6 this morning to celebrate the award winners; virtual assemblies have certainly become the norm! Year 6 children have been working hard completing the final round of practice tests this week— they have all tried their best.

Certificate for Safer Internet Day 22

Newsletter - 28th January 2022

Dear Parents and Carers,

It has been a cold and frosty fortnight, and I am so pleased to see that the evenings are starting to get lighter. This week, reception children (with the support of staff and parents) were able to go out and visit the local church. At Heathfield, it is part of the promise that we make to you and your children, that we will equip them for life in modern Britain. A large part of this is learning about the other cultures and religions that share the space that we live in.

We are still living in extremely challenging times, and often during times like these we forget that there are others around us who can support and help.
