Newsletter - 1st October 2021

Happy Friday parents!

It has been a busy two weeks and there is lots happening in school. We have put some photographs of the children on the back of this newsletter so you can see what they are up to. The curriculum newsletters for this half term have also been emailed out to you so you know what the children are learning at the moment. Please free feel to comment in their planners if you have any questions.

The school planners are a vital part of our routines this year in school; we have added sections to tell you what times tables and number facts your children are working on this week, as well as the spellings they need to learn and their spelling test scores. The green pages at the front also have lots of really important information for you to read such as the expectations for home reading. With us getting ‘back to business’ this year it is so important for the children to be playing their part and reading five times a week and remembering to bring their reading books and planners to school every day. If your child has empty hands when they leave the house in the morning, there is definitely something missing!

Newsletter - 17th September 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

Welcome back to a new school year, and a very warm welcome to all of our new parents and children. We are very pleased to have you join us as part of the Heathfield community. You will have met your children’s teachers, but please see below to find out which member of the leadership team is your point of contact if you need us.

The children have very quickly got used to being back in school and we are seeing some fantastic examples of our school values and social norms being demonstrated. Children from each class who impress their teachers receive a postcard home with the good news so if you get one this weekend, please talk to your child about their fantastic achievement.

Dear Parents and Carers,

I hope you are well. The weeks really seem to be flying by at this point in the term and there is lots happening. One really important announcement is that the planned teacher training day on the 7th July has now been cancelled along with external secondary school transition. This week the Year 6 children have been doing lots of preparation work for secondary school with the support of the pastoral team. The schools they will be attending have been dialling in and doing virtual introductions for them. Along with this, they have been working with their class teachers and learning lots of information about what it will be like.
